Alliance Home Health Care and Joy’s House Host Caregiver Retreat

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Alliance Home Health Care, a skilled provider of senior home health care, is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Joy’s House for its Caregiver Retreat.

“A Day Away” Caregiver Retreat takes place Saturday, May 1, from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Calvin Hall, 1660 Kessler Boulevard East Drive, in Indianapolis. Registration starts at 9 a.m.

This free event is open to the general public, and all caregivers in the community are encouraged to attend. Attendees will enjoy lunch, music, massages, special exhibits, educational sessions, guest speakers and more. Complimentary adult day services are also available at Joy’s House from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., but space is limited.

“Joy’s House is committed to providing special care and support to those caregivers who have chosen to serve and help their loved ones,” said Outreach Coordinator Leah Shattuck. “We look forward to the Caregiver Retreat as a day during which caregivers can meet others like themselves, make connections, share experiences and feel cared for in a way they may not have encountered in awhile.”

“We are proud to assist with such a wonderful and worthwhile event,” said Kelly Panzer, director of marketing at Alliance Home Health Care. “Also, through one of the educational breakout sessions, we will offer attendees information about how to prepare a home both inside and out with regard to safety concerns and those they care for.”

Other educational breakout sessions include tips on how caregivers can continue to take care of themselves and offer an opportunity to meet with an elder care attorney about legal issues specific to aging needs.

Joy’s House adult day service provides care for adults living with physical and mental challenges while providing respite for caregivers. Please RSVP for “A Day Away” Caregiver Retreat by Friday, April 23, to or call 317-254-0828. For more information about Joy’s House, visit
