Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Alliance Home Health Care, a skilled provider of senior home health care, is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana for its 2010 Spring Caregiver Conference.

The conference is titled “Taking Dementia Care from Ordinary to Extraordinary,” and it takes place Friday, May 14, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., at Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport, 2501 S. High School Road, in Indianapolis.

Mother and daughter team Mary Sharp and Rachel Kail of The Edcon Group are the keynote speakers at the conference, which will include educational sessions, audience discussion and exhibits.

“Conference attendees will be doing something all day with a program that is highly interactive and very hands on,” said Kristi Ritchie, family and community education specialist at Alzheimer’s Association. “It will address a variety of issues from how to meet the six major emotional needs of those who have dementia to the importance of and avenues for preserving life stories. It is a conference we hope will be one of the best programs attendees have experienced.”

“The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana is making an impact to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health,” said Kelly Panzer, director of marketing at Alliance Home Health Care. “We are honored to help them in their efforts and be a part of this Caregiver Conference.”

Five continuing education units (CEU) are available for health facility administrators and social workers. Certificates of attendance will be provided to all attendees, and conference attendance also counts toward dementia-specific training required by the State of Indiana.

Registration is $30 for each professional and $15 for each family member. Register online at www.alz.org/indiana or by calling 800-272-3900.
