Thursday, January 31st, 2013

Over the course of the next couple months, we at Alliance Home Health Care are inviting readers to meet our team of caring and compassionate workers dedicated to bettering the lives of your friends and loved ones. These amazing individuals work hard every day to provide your friend or loved one with the best at home care, home health care, and senior care in the Indianapolis area, and here’s your chance to learn about what drives them to help others.

First up, Kelly Panzer, Director of Business Development.

Greetings, Kelly. I guess we’ll start with what is your official job title at Alliance Home Health Care, and how long have you been with Alliance?

“I am currently the Director of Business Development. I have been at Alliance for almost 11 years (June of 02′ was when I started).”

What made you want to be part of the team at Alliance?

“I was excited about a couple things when I started working at Alliance. I love being a part of a women owned business that has been helping people for over 20 years. I also liked that Alliance is always going above and beyond and thinking outside of the box when it comes to providing care and being an industry leader.”

What is the best part of working at Alliance?

“I love being a part of team. Most people who work at Alliance have been here for years, it’s like family.”

Alliance Home Health Care is one of the largest women-owned businesses in Indiana. How do you feel to be a part of that?

“I love working for an organization that is women-owned. I think the message it sends to all women is outstanding. Being a part of an organization that empowers women and shows women that they can succeed is something I get to everyday by working at Alliance.”

Let’s get to know you a little better. Tell us about your family, if you don’t mind.

“I have been married to my husband, Matt for almost 9 years. We met senior year of college and have two wonderful children. Matt teaches high school English and is very involved at his school. He used to coach football and golf there and currently announces all the football and basketball games. He also co-chairs the basketball intramural program. Brien, our son, is 6 and all boy (Sports, video games, Batman and Star Wars) and our daughter Caelan is 3 and all girl (Princesses, dolls, jewelry and dress up). It definitely keeps me on my toes.”

Awesome! So, it’s Saturday afternoon today. What are you going to be up to?

“I would probably be doing something with my family, either a game for Brien, playing with the kids, or watching a game on TV. If its Notre Dame football season, then watching the game.”

Anything else you would like to tell the readers about working at Alliance?

“Alliance is a company that truly puts its clients at the top. Everything we do starts with them and providing the best quality of care to them. Whether it be developing a new program, educating our staff on a trend in healthcare, or simply visiting our clients when they are in the hospital, we try to do everything we can to help the clients and their families in any way that we can.”

Finally, we know you’re a sports fan, so we have to ask….Ravens or 49’ers?

“I am going to say Ravens.”

A Baltimore fan in Indianapolis, eh? Well, we suppose no one is perfect.

Join us next week for more “Meet The Team,” and learn more about what makes Alliance Home Health Care one of the leading providers of home health care in Indianapolis.

Report: 60% of Americans Track Their Health.

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

While working, or being actively involved in home health care, senior care, or at home care, often our drive to help improve the lives of others is so high that we have to remind ourselves that taking care of ourselves is one of the best things we can do for others.

It’s no secret that being in good health, getting good sleep, and eating right and exercising can keep us at our best. And one of the biggest ways to keep ourselves in top form, is by monitoring our own health and becoming more aware of what our bodies are telling us.

A new study, conducted by the Pew Research Center, recently released one of the first studies to examine how many of us monitor our health on a daily basis. The research concluded that 6-in-10 of the 3,000 American men and women studied followed their diet, exercise, or tracked symptoms and vital signs.

Tracking your daily health is important, as recognizing even the slightest of changes early can lead to better health and improved outlooks on recovery, in the case of something more serious occurring. For instance, out of the 60% of people who stated they tracked their health, almost half of them stated they recognized changes they could make to start improving their health, and 40% went to a doctor for necessary help and treatment.

The biggest percentage of people cited to track their health, or monitor the health of others, were the caregivers, and those providing at home and senior care. But that’s no surprise here at Alliance Home Health Care. As a dedicated team of quality and professional at home care providers, providing the best home health care in Indianapolis is a full-time job that requires our Care Advisors to be the best they can be.

For themselves, and for your friends or loved ones.
