Home Health Aides Provide Medical Care and
Companion Services
The medical care and companionship provided by home health aides allow senior adults and the elderly to remain safely in their home environment for as long as possible. They work under the direct supervision of our home care nurses and care managers to offer your loved one the attention, care and support they need to function independently at home.
Alliance is one of the only Indianapolis-area home health care agencies that require its home health aides to maintain state certification and surpass the state’s requirements. While the state mandates a score of 70% on the certification exam to pass, Alliance mandates 80%. All aides also are insured and fully screened through extensive reference and criminal background checks.
Responsibilities of a home health aide may include:
- Feeding assistance
- Transferring the client from bed to chair
- Bathing and bed bathing
- Hair washing and shaving
- Dressing assistance
- Nail and hair care
- Client repositioning in bed or chair
- Eye drops assistance
- Client ambulation assistance
- Medication assistance
- Assistance with toileting
- As well as all duties of a companion or attendant
Home Health aides also may provide non-medical, personal home care services such as light housekeeping, meal preparation and companionship.
